Portugal coach Paulo Bento surprisingly did not call midfielder Manuel Fernandes, although the performance is quite impressive with Besiktas. Bento prefer on duo Sporting Braga, Miguel Lopes and Custodio, and Benfica striker Nelson Oliveira. All three are new faces in the Portugal national team.
